Project Overview
The Birimiam greenstone belt of West Africa is currently the base of the fastest growing gold production and exploration area in the world. The greenstone belt of Guinea has had a long history of placer gold mining and prospecting. The company has secured a major gold property in this highly production and well-established region. The Siguiri exploration property has an area of 103 square kilometres approximately 500 kilometres from the capital, Conakry. The permit is located on the northern rim of the world famous Siguiri basin.
Strategic’s geological consultants in Guinea have worked with a world-class mining company in the Siguiri basin for over 10 years. They have outlined the area for acquisition and have prepared a work program to further explore and develop the property. The Siguiri gold concession serves as a platform to engage in an under-explored area that has proven geology and production by other adjacent world-class mining companies. This basin boasts several producing gold mines that include Anglo-Ashanti, SEMFRO and Lero.
The company is poised to systematically apply advanced exploration and development technologies to begin to bring rich placer deposits into production. Simultaneously, Strategic plans to do a feasibility study to prepare to bring the hard rock deposits into production. Major gold deposits are common in similar greenstone belts around the world such as South Africa, Canada, Brazil, India and Australia.
