At Strategic Mining Corporation, we believe that the safety, health and well being of our workers and their families are paramount. We are committed to achieving a safe workplace and have instituted key safety programs and activities, including employee training, special training for emergency response teams, risk assessment tools and recognition for safety achievement. The company is also committed to providing ongoing information aimed at maintaining a high level of focus on continuous safety improvement.

SMC managers and supervisors are responsible for creating and promoting a safe environment through their leadership, participation in site safety and health committees, and coaching workers on good safety habits.

• SMC ensures that every employee receives the training and knowledge needed to perform the job safely
• Risk assessment of each site identifies risks so controls are put in place to alleviate any threats to safety.
• SMC sites must be equipped with personal protective equipment standards, mobile equipment guidelines, health exposure controls, and many other standards and procedures to protect the well-being of employees. Regular monitoring ensures controls are effective.
• Contractors on SMC sites must meet the same high safety standards as the company’s own employees.
• The teams at each SMC site receive special training on rescue, illness, fire and various other potential emergencies.
